Compilation of Nursing Students

For the first time this year, students in the Nursing Assistant course had the opportunity to earn a national certification in Patient Care Technician (PCT).

The certification, offered through the National Healthcareer Association, is recognized throughout the United States. All students earning their certification as a PCT passed a national test confirming their knowledge and skills.

The Patient Care Technician certification will provide students a competitive advantage as they apply for entry level health care jobs.

Students in the nursing courses achieved competencies in skills such as:

  • Patient care
  • EKG interpretation
  • Vital signs
  • Healthcare quality assurance and compliance
  • Infection control and
  • Blood and specimen collection and transport.
