
The show and the tradition goes on!
The Stevenson High School Theatre
troupe has once again captured the top honor at district competition that challenges
students to perform and stage a musical in 45 minutes.
Stevenson’s “Troupe 33” captured the district title and
earned ten individual honors through the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic
Association’s one-act play competition.
The team performed in a virtual setting the play Tracks by Peter
Tarsi, a story of a group of strangers that meet in a subway platform only to
realize they are recently deceased and the trains are taking them to the afterlife.
The show is directed by Mrs. Cheryl Jackson and Student
Directors Mareo Butrus and Sophia Yabut.
Individual honors earned by Stevenson students are:

Yabut - superior in acting as the homeless Girl
- Bobby
Yaxley - Superior in acting as the old man
- Mareo
Butrus and Emily Sakorafos - Superior in set design and set construction
- Clara
Barsoum - Excellent in acting as the nun
- Anna
Gallina - Excellent as the High School Girl
- Marisa
Fisher and Sophia Yabut - Excellent in Costume design
- Paige
Sakorafos and Makaila Seabridge - Excellent in Stage Management
Troupe 33 will compete next week in the Regional MIFA
competition February 6 and 7.
