This graduation checklist can be utilized by students to track their progress toward graduation and visualize which courses they should take next.

Scheduling Process: Students request their course work for the following school year. Students are encouraged to put time, consideration, and research into determining which courses they should sign up for. This should be a discussion as a family in addition to meeting individually with their school counselor during the scheduling process.

Schedule Change Policy: Please keep in mind that your schedule was created based on your selections during online scheduling the previous year. Teacher staffing, course offerings, and instructional supplies are all based on your course selections. Unfortunately, schedule change requests based on teacher preference cannot be accommodated. Additionally, Advanced Placement courses cannot be dropped during the school year.

MISD CTE Dual Enrollment: Welding & HVAC Opportunities for 2026-2027

Give your students a powerful jump-start on their future career! UCS is transitioning from the current CTE Dual Enrollment model to the Macomb Intermediate School District (MISD) model. The MISD is offering two outstanding Career & Technical Education (CTE) Dual Enrollment programs—Welding and HVAC—in partnership with Macomb Community College. These programs allow current 10th–11th grade students to earn 9 college credits while gaining real-world, hands-on experience in high-demand skilled trades.

Program Highlights:

Held during the school day at Macomb Community College (Warren Campus)
Five days a week with industry exposure (NEW)
Earn 9 college credits toward postsecondary certification pathways
Class Dates: August 17, 2026 – May 7, 2027 (NEW)
Applications Due: April 17, 2026
Acceptance Notifications: Week of April 20, 2026
Onboarding Event: April 28, 2026

Welding offers students foundational skills in multiple industry-standard welding processes, equipment operation, and safety practices, with all work aligned to American Welding Society (AWS) standards.

HVAC introduces students to heating, cooling, refrigeration, controls, and plumbing fundamentals, blending hands-on practice with essential scientific and technical concepts used in the HVAC industry.
