Advanced Placement (AP)

STEP 1: JOIN YOUR TEACHER'S AP CLASSROOM http://myap.collegeboard.org

• All students will be able to join an AP Classroom on the College Board MyAP site where they will be able to access College Board provided course resources and materials as well as an individualized performance dashboard.

• Teachers will be able to use the resources in the MyAP Classroom for assignments, classroom activities, tests, quizzes and more. 

• Students will log into the MyAP site with their College Board profiles and join the AP Class with the JOIN CODE (access code) that will be distributed by their teacher. 

STEP 2: ACTIVATE EXAM on MyAP

• Once students have joined the class on MyAP, they will indicate if they plan to take the AP exam for that class. To indicate YES, click on the yellow "Register for Exam" box and confirm your response. 

• This exam is optional.  Students must indicate YES for taking the exam AND payment must be received by the deadlines indicated. 

STEP 3: SUBMIT EXAM DEPOSIT

• The cost is $107 per exam. 

• Students who have an active exam on the MyAP System as of September 18th will receive an invoice via email from APTS. An invoice will be emailed to the parent email address associated with the student's College Board account. This invoice will be coming from APTS.  A $53 deposit must be paid November 3, 2025. The remaining balance is due by February 13, 2026. 

Final payments for ALL AP EXAMS are due by FEBRUARY 13, 2026.

• September 19, 2025 - Deadline for students to select YES on MY AP

• November 3, 2025 - Deadline to pay the deposit of $53 

• November 16, 2025 - Late Registration OPENS - CLICK HERE to request a late registration invoice. Late Registration is an additional $40.

• January 1, 2026 - Deadline for late registration (late registration is an additional $40). CLICK HERE to request a late registration exam.

• February 13, 2026 - Deadline for all remaining payments. 

• March 31, 2026 - Deadline to cancel an exam and request a partial refund ($40 deposit and $40 late fee (if applicable) are nonrefundable). To cancel an AP exam, email cancel@aptsusa.com. 

All students, regardless of status, submit a $53 deposit by November 3rd. Students who have successfully been approved for Educational Benefits (previously Free-Reduced lunch) AND who sit for the exam in May will be eligible for a partial refund per the State of Michigan subsidies established for 2025-2026 school year.  

Last year’s Educational Benefits (free & reduced lunch) applications will expire on Friday, October 10, 2025.

As required by federal guidelines, students without an approved 2025-2026 Free and Reduced Meal Application on file will not be eligible to receive additional benefits such as AP test fee reduction, and other items beginning October 11th. Families must fill out a new application form located at https://utica.familyportal.cloud as soon as possible in order for benefits to continue. If there are any questions, please call the Office of Food and Nutrition Services at 586-797-1180. 

Students need to report to their testing locations by the time specified below. 

PLEASE NOTE afternoon exams end AFTER 2:14 PM. Students MUST ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION home. 

MST and CSI students taking morning exams MUST ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION to the IRC for their afternoon classes.

AP ART and DESIGN STUDENTS

All AP Art and Design Portfolios will be submitted electronically through AP Digital Portfolio. Please see Mrs. May for specific details. All AP portfolios must be submitted by May 8th, 2026. 

Note: For AP courses with a portfolio submission (AP Art and Design, AP Computer Science Principles, AP Seminar, and AP Research), students will need to agree to the Digital Portfolio AP Exam Terms and Conditions before submitting their work as final in the AP Digital Portfolio. 

EXAM TIME CONFLICTS

If two of your exams are scheduled for the SAME DAY and TIME please see Mrs. Hotts in the counseling office to reschedule one of the exams for the late testing window.

Students testing with accommodations should report to the counseling office by the specified time. 

On exam day, students will access their AP exams through the Bluebook icon on their desktop. We will practice accessing the exam in your AP classes, but you can also practice at home. 

• If you do not see the Bluebook icon, you will need to download the app from Classlink.  

• Open Bluebook and click on Sign In with a College Board student account

• You must know your College Board credentials, so please make sure you have them memorized on exam day.  You will not be permitted to access your phone or bring any paper into the testing room. 

• If you need help resetting your College Board account, you can contact CB directly at 866-315-6068.

Everything you are doing in your AP Classes right now is preparing your for your AP Exams!  Here are a few other things you need to be doing:

• Practice Logging into your Bluebook Application: Your Bluebook Application is located on your desktop, and you used this app during our Digital Readiness Meetings.

• Take a practice exam through the Bluebook Application and familiarize yourself with tools you may use during testing. 

• Locate and practice using the following tools:  

• Testing Timer: A timer will let you know how much time is remaining in each part of the test. You can hide it until 5 minutes remain, then you’ll get an alert.
• Calculator: For tests with math questions, the app has a built-in calculator. You can drag it anywhere on the screen.
• Reference Sheet: A reference sheet with commonly used formulas will appear on all tests with math questions.
• Highlights & Notes: Use this tool to highlight text from a question or leave yourself a note. 
• Mark for Review: Use the bookmark icon to flag any question you want to come back to.
• Line Reader: Use this tool to focus as you read test content.  
• Option Eliminator: Cross out answer choices you think are wrong. You can undo this if you change your mind.
• Question Menu: See which questions you skipped or marked for review, and navigate to any question in the section.
• Zoom: Use keyboard shortcuts on laptops or pinch and zoom on tablets to get a closer look at any part of the question.

Scores will be available starting early July 2025. Scores are released online on the College Board site.

Beginning in April, AP Classroom will prompt you to select where to send your scores. You can bypass that prompt by clicking the link "I don't want to send my scores".

Seniors should send their official scores to the college they will attend. This will send all exam scores for all AP exams you ever took. The deadline to make this request is June 20 for 2025 Exams.

2. Click on My AP Profile in the blue section, towards the right

3. Click on Score Send

4. Indicate to what college you would like your scores to be sent.

5. Be sure to Save!

Sophomores and Juniors should not send their scores at this time. You will report unofficial scores on college applications, and send your official scores at the end of your senior year.

If you decide to cancel an exam BEFORE March 31, 2026, you can request a partial refund. Note the $53 deposit is nonrefundable. To cancel an AP exam, contact APTS at cancel@aptsusa.com. Include in the email:

• the student invoice number

• the student name

• the title of the exam to remove from the invoice
