It's signing day! UCS Senior earns full scholarship to Murray State University Honors College

Delaney signing commitment surrounded by Murray State AcademicsDelaney Shroat, a senior student at Stevenson High School, recently traveled to Murray State University to officially sign her commitment to the MSU Presidential Fellowship. 

The Presidential Fellowship is a full-ride scholarship that covers tuition, housing, and meals for up to eight semesters for the Honors College, based in Kentucky.  The scholarship is valued at approximately $65,000.

Fellows must must complete five hours of undergraduate research under the guidance of a faculty mentor for each week of the term of the Fellowship. 

Shroat, who also attends the Utica Center for Mathematics, Science and Technology, is a 2018 valedictorian, UCS Academic Scholar and Advanced Placement Scholar.

She is also played, Varsity soccer and was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Spanish Honor Society and Principal’s Advisory Board.

Shroat also earned a Seal of Global Language for demonstrating proficiency in both English and Spanish.

Murray State University Honors College is a unique educational opportunity for students of high achievement. The program emphasizes critical and analytical thinking through opportunities such as an honors seminar, independent projects and a chance to study other cultures with travel abroad.One on one guidance for each student for internship experiences and scholarships is provided.

Delaney will be pursuing a degree in chemistry and biology.
