A Stevenson High School senior has earned the 2019 Presidential Scholarship from Baker College to cover full tuition costs as he pursues a career in cybersecurity.

Maxwell Davis has earned the four scholarship – valued at $46,000 – based on his GPA, test scores and a personal essay.

The Presidential Scholarship, first given in 2018, is Baker’s annual award granted to a select incoming freshman, or freshmen, for a full four year’s tuition.

Davis will study cyber security at Baker College Clinton Township, before transferring to Baker College’s new metro Detroit campus opening in fall 2020.

“I’m really looking forward to attending the cyber security program at Baker College because of its reputation for competing globally in cyber defense as one of the best schools in the country,” Davis said.  “The Presidential Scholarship is helping me achieve my goal of being able to compete against the best of the best for jobs in this industry.”

The Presidential Scholarship award will cover 100 percent of Davis’ tuition charges for up to four years at Baker College, and is valued at an estimated $46,000.
